I love this! Sometimes I feel called to touch a tree as I'm passing by and feel like, even for a brief moment, we've connected ♡

There’s a deep remembering that happens when we lean into tree-time…

As a folk herbalist and Earth devotee, I often remind women that the trees are not just scenery — they are elders, witnesses, and guides. Sitting with them, listening with the body rather than the mind, we begin to remember who we truly are. Thank you for this beautiful invitation to slow down and connect in reverence.

I do this. Though more in passing. I will now linger longer and be more conscious of asking permission and gauging interest. So glad for your post!

I love this Jackie! My experience with trees is similar, and reading this post makes me think of The Telepathy Tapes - a podcast I've been listening to lately, about shared consciousness, mainly between non-verbal autistic children and their carers, but in a recent episode they began talking about shared consciousness with pets too. It's a fascinating subject. I'd say the key is getting quiet, clearing away the noise and clutter in life, to allow space for receiving ❤

Thank you Vicki. I'll have to check out the Telepathy Tapes. It definitely is a fascinating subject. I wonder how much we actually tap into shared consciousness with each other without realising it? When we go "oh I was just thinking about that too". Or someone we're close to comes into mind and then they call. I think it often happens in the therapy room too. When there's deep listening and connection.

Absolutely. I feel like the field is there to tap into if we get out of our own way!

Yes, the key to talking with any sentient being, is first listening to our body’s sensations in response to them. Almost always, we don’t think we can talk with trees, because we believe our almost constantly loudly chattering brains, that are shouting: nothing to hear here!!

So true Noemi, in western culture we're conditioned into thinking of trees and plants as landscape, scenery, something to be curated, viewed and enjoyed for our pleasure. This is just more of the same - the story of separation we are caught up in. I see talking with trees as an act of resistance, as well as a re-remembering of our intimate connection with the natural world and an honouring of our inter-dependence. Thank you for your wise words 🙏
